Oh, I forgot something. Now we have a Fedral Ticket that we show them but that wasn't the way back in the 60s & 70s.

There is one more story. On a dark and stormy night....... It was dark out and a west train was stopped at the Allen Ave. X-Overs interlocking, operated by Burbank Jct. But with the rear end blocking the crossing down by the LAWP. Well a cop shows up at the head end and tells the engineer he is going to write him a ticket for blocking the crossing for over 20 minutes. The hogger said he could not accept it, all he did was drive and that was the condutors job. The cop asked to see the conductor and he told him he was back on the caboose.

With that, the cops got back in their car and headed south towards the water & power xing. Mean while, back at the ranch, the hogger called the conductor and told him to lock his doors because the cops were looking to write him a ticket. They locked the doors and slid down on their seats out of sight. He called Burbank and asked the OP to move him up or line him out of town. Well, the cops showed up and got up on the box and starting knocking. No answer. More knocking and then a jerk and the train started west. One cop had taken his smarts to work and got off as the train started to pick up speed. Not the other one. He was using his night stick and yelling to open the door. Well, the cop noticed that the speed was really picking up and decided to join his buddy. Only trouble was no one had taught him how to de-train a moving caboose. They were up to about 15 mph. He just jumped and wound up with a broken arm.

Well, days later, the LAPD called the SP about it. They said they were never told about the situation but reminded the LAPD of the Federal Laws that prohibited what these officers were trying to do on a moving train. They refered LAPD to the Special Agents Offices in the City for a little education forum.
