BTW, I tend to use DuckDuckGo (www.duckduckgo.com) more than Google itself. DDG has a no-scripts results page available (if you block javascript, which I do, using NoScript in Firefox) that minimizes ability to track your searches - Google tracks everything. Comparing search results, DDG tends to bring up public and educational results first, while Google usually brings up ads and commercial sources first. Both degrade into odd partial matches, but DDG seems to go there more quickly (sometimes on the first screen, even) than Google.
