Name one transportation system in the world that is self-supporting (including related costs for planes, ships, roads)
How many on this "board and that other place" actually ride the rails to and from work? (I bet very few)
I will be the first to admit my family doesn't (the rails don't go to and from our jobs and schools)
I, my son and daughter do however take the bus, walk, bike and carpool and a few times a month we do drive.
When a regular Taxpayer sees their money go to something that they don't actually or very seldom use, they question it (Like the many here on this board and over at that "other" place)
I am very pro-transit, I'm not a "Greenie", I just see the bigger picture, imagine no alternate transportation to driving, the streets and freeways would be in total gridlock with all those extra drivers.
As a nation we waste trillions on stuff we don't need or will never use, or give to people who don't deserve it.
I can accept spend on transit, just hope they will not waste it.
