In addition to KRK's points about WRM, it is also worth noting that we acquired 22 miles of the old Sacramento Northern through the railbanking ("Rails to Trails", although in our case it is "Rails to Rails") program. Although railbanking is not as good as owning the railroad in fee simple, it's a lot better than being on somebody else's property.
