Back in 1967 I rode a NW Rail Excursion train to Leavenworth. The train parked in town parallel and north of highway 2 on a spur, which was laid with very old rail of I believe 1892 or so vintage. I took a photo of the train and have a 35mm slide somewhere in my collection. The town had some festivities going on, but at 13 was only interested in the train. Very busy and crowded place on the weekends, still not interested in the tourist aspect of the village. We passed through Leavenworth around 1959-60 on an auto camping trip and today have vague memories of what it looked like before the Bavarian transformation. I was only 5 or 6 years old at the time.
