Trains on the Caltrain main are passing Candlestick for last time, going the way of Bayshore Yard and so many other old structures and buildings in San FRancisco, as progress continues.
South City is one of the as yet unimproved stations with all of its SP yard accourtements sans the demolished station here even as this area is being filled with new high rise offices and parking garages. There are a lot of old industrial park warehouse type buildings to tear down here but only one current customer that gets reefers. Constant flux and development but this scene remains largely same from 30 years ago except the backdrop and some of the trains.
Several used Metrolink cars have been bought to provide additional capacity for Caltrain until electrification project is complete. The Caltrain news organ on the trains said six of these would be put into use in their Metrolink livery.
