Leprino in Tracy is switched by the Union Pacific (not CFNR) from their yard at 6th and MacArthur.
UP usually sets out on Sunday mornings around 7:30 - 8 AM from the yard office on 6th near the 11th Street overpass, lays out the fusees and picks up the cheese reefers down the tracks along 6th Street (near downtown) along with the old SP bay-window caboose, then does about a minute of "street running" along MacArthur -- which usually scares the КЯӐҎ (pardon my Cyrillic) out of motorists idling there.
From there, they cross 11th Street, split the gap between Tracy High and the old Heinz plant, and waddle on the tracks out to Leprino, which is still known as the "Sugar Spur"; it dead-ends out at the old Holly Sugar plant.
Up until this weekend, you could race under the 11th Street overpass over to Leprino in time to catch the arrival, but the overpass is being shut down (today, I believe) and will be torn down and replaced.
There are occasional foamskies hanging out between 7:30 and 8:30 AM on Sundays to catch the "action."
