Take your pick BIT....what was more interesting about the meeting in Petaluma Wednesday was a group of a bout 20 FORMER NWP Customers who came and spoke in the Public Comment section telling the NCRA Board how much trucking costs have gone up and they can't wait for resumption of service.
The high cost of feed, grain, lumber, sand gravel and aggregate suppliers and users were represented. Some growers said they could go out of business because of the high transportation costs. Folks from Hunt and Berhans in Petaluma and Dairymans said the difference between rail and trucking is $7 a ton and its cost them three quarters of a million bucks then rail.
