1928 was the year the NWP began in earnest renovating and modernizing it's 25 year old electric system in response to community complaints and rancor. The Sausalito news published a fair amount of articles on this whole kerfuffle. They were quite upset that the greatest empire in California was not being appreciated by the railroad. Yes, they weren't just upset about ferry service and the third rail and the dilapidated or scanty shelters. They were also upset that the Sausalito-Eureka passenger train didn't have a name like the Lark, or the Padre. They also attacked the Marin Journal for being too easy on the NWP and it's parents SP/SF
