Mook-Check references about the Sunnyside mine in Silverton. There are many references on the net as well as a book about the history and operation and abandonment of it. There is also a reference about Lake Emma flooding the mine and government's reaction to that spill in the book.
To keep this on railroads the Silverton Gladstone and Northern went up the canyon to Gladstone from Silverton.
