Trestle is about 600 feet long, 40 feet high. In comparison, the P&W rebuilt the burned Cornelius Pass Trestle years ago that was around 90 feet high and IIRC 900 feet long, with a steel and concrete structure. No reason to believe that a steel and concrete structure wouldn't work here. UP is replacing their Willamette River bridge in Harrisburg also with a steel-and-concrete structure.

The question becoomes: WHY? There's no real need for the route. Commuter rail? ODOT has studied it numerous times and ultimately it comes down to that it is not very economically feasible, given that the populations of Newberg and Sherwood are too little (about 15-20,000 each). And even if you get commuter rail, each city has poor transit service, and the destinations are dispersed at the north end, causing most transit riders to require two or three transfers to get to the end destination, making public transit largely infeasible.
