Nice pictures, John. I visited Rayonier several times in the 1959-60 era.
The Rayonier railroad did not go all the way into Hoquiam. They had a float operation into Hoquiam and anything coming into or going out from the railroad moved by barge. In steam days they operated out of a location known as "Railroad Camp", near Humtulips. About 1960 they dieselized the railroad with used ex SP Baldwin roadswitchers. They abandoned Railroad Camp and built a new line which completely bypassed Railroad Camp and I suspect some of your pictures may have been taken along this "new" line.
There is quite a bit of information about the Rayonier railroad available online. Google "Rayonier".
