Great photos of Rayonier. The log dump was at a point called New London, which was a few miles North of Hoquiam. The log transfer was at a point called Crane Creek. The operation was dieselized in 1962, and all three 2-8-2's were quickly sold and departed the railroad within about a year. The 14 and 120 went to scrap, while the 110 and 111 were retained for the Camp 3 branch, and the 38 was retained in standby service. The last steam operations were about 1967, and shortly thereafter, the 38 went on display at Crane Creek, while the 110 was sold to the Heber Creeper, and the 111 to the California Western. At about the same time Railroad Camp was abandoned and torn down. I visited the area five or six years ago, and like you, I could find nothing that indicated that there was a railroad in that area at one time.
