In the early 1960's a SP freight derailed behind that building and piled up. My dad heard about it and loaded the kids in the car to go check it out. We sat on the end of a tankcar that derailed away from the main pile of cars and watched the crews untangling the wreck. It was the same day there was a big accident at the start of the Indy 500. The next day the Mercury News had pictures of both wrecks on page 3.
