Before everyone gets too far with their panties all bunched up over this incident, the so-called "Book Club" should be thankful that NVWT did not press charges per the following California Penal Code:
PENAL CODE
SECTION 403-420.1
415. Any of the following persons shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for a period of not more than 90 days, a fine of not more than four hundred dollars ($400), or both such imprisonment and fine:
(1) Any person who unlawfully fights in a public place or challenges another person in a public place to fight.
(2) Any person who maliciously and willfully disturbs another person by loud and unreasonable noise.
(3) Any person who uses offensive words in a public place which are inherently likely to provoke an immediate violent reaction.
Also, this PC section is "broken down" into "levels of offense" via radio code for the benefit of officers responding to give them an idea of what they will face:
415 Disturbing the peace
415B Investigate the trouble
415C Disturbance—children involved
415D Disturbance—drink involved
415E Loud music or party
415F Disturbance—family
415G Disturbance—gang
In California, it's called DISTURBING THE PEACE you numbskulls, not "Laughing While Black."
Odd thing about the Code ... I don't see anywhere any exception to enforcement because the suspect(s) are black, green, brown, white, gray, orange, yellow, purple, etc. nor is there any reference to "White Privilege" or "Elitist Standing" or whatever your favorite birdcage liner prints or the crying bimbo on your ion bombardment screen says.
Now, as for HOW the matter was handled OVERALL by all parties involved, that is a point open for opinion.
