"Elitism" such a grossly overused cliche in current political discourse, it has lost its meaning. I certainly enjoy having a beer at a party or in a bar or with a meal, but there are also times I like to have a glass of wine. I'm the same person regardless of what I drink and enjoying wine at a restaurant, winery or on a train does not make me an "elitist."
I have ridden on Greyhound buses throughout my life (most recently in 2013). This includes short trips of under one hour as well as a trip from California to Chicago and another from California to Pittsburgh and a couple between San Francisco and Santa Barbara during my college years. In more recent years, I have done overnight bus rides to New York. If the author has not been on any long-distance Greyhound bus trips, the author has no business calling anyone "elitist."
When it comes to transportation, real elitism comes from politicians and their supporters who desire to cut back or eliminate funding for Amtrak
