The Indy races consist is shorter than NHRA Raceway trains that were run in past years to the Sonoma Raceway. Photos of prior NHRA trains show two consists coupled back-to-back with locos at each end.
Not surprising to see this consist is shorter, as the Indy races in August are less patronized than NHRA races in July. (This year, I was serving beer and cider at both events; the NHRA event was packed versus the Indy event with much fewer spectators and patrons.)
Thanks for posting these photos - that miniscule bit of rainfall on Saturday morning helped to brighten up the day for your camera action.
