Buzzzzz, it's Beulha the buzzer. No one got the point (and being on or off the grid is irrelevant). If we can't have thermal generation (coal, oil, gas, including those portable generators), nor nukes, what do we do on a hot night when the wind isn't blowing??

That Tesla battery uses lithium cell technology, as do all electric and hybrid automobiles (and those Boeing 787s). It works quite well, but if the lithium gets wet, fwoomp, you get a fire, sometimes an explosion, that you can't extinguish.


Besides, oil, coal, and natural gas are solar energy -- from millions of years ago.
