Pdxrailtransit,

Hello.

As per David Myrick's book 'The Santa Fe Route: Railroads of Arizona Vol 4.', the Santa Fe Railway H&MS and old track charts, the original single track 1880s mainline over Yampai Summit was double tracked in sections between 1913-1923. Many of those single track alignments were abandoned between Seligman and Kingman during this time. The Johnson Canyon Tunnel (just west of the coordinates you gave) was also built around this time.

On your note regarding the Line Changes in the early 60's (Crookton Cutoff; Prescott Bypass), you're right about additional small line changes on the Transcon and the Peavine. ATSF's engineering department took further liberties with using crews from 1959-1963 to make additional tweaks to alignments, sidings, yards, etc.

I hope that helps.
Thanks,
MAPAZ in Arizona
