UP policy is for mechanical to call the train anytime that trains power has an issue, once the problem has been reported. It doe's not matter if the engineer solved the problem with out their help. The only real help is getting the access code to the maintenance section of the computer for fault codes so they can be cleared. If the fault is legit the faults will come back up. Some fault codes also let you know that the engine is toast.
