ALL Power Reliability

Something Interesting!

GE when they were testing the new Tier 4's on the system recently told us that the average lifespan of a locomotive is to be 20 years.

Reason why Class 1's don't use dash 8's anymore. Early Dash 9's are being retired and sent to auction.

As far as power failure. Only certain shops can do "Heavy maintenance required" like replace a turbo or power assembly (equivalent to the head on a car).

Breakdowns will happen!
