The Amtrak version of the 'Coast Daylight' ran 4 days a week between 16th Street Oakland and Los Angeles union station. The 'Coast Starlight' ran the other 3 days between Seattle King street and Los Angeles Union station.

Once the 'Coast Starlight' became daily the 'Coast Daylight' was dropped.
