Does it take longer for a rural coroner to show up and declare the deceased to be officially deceased at a RR accident than an urban coroner can take?
It will make you late...... in either case.
Was it suicide by train, when we have so many perfectly good bridges to jump off, without disrupting the schedule?
Or was it more of other kinds of stupid that cause these things to happen?
Were there gates at this rural crossing? At least that damages the cars paint or windshield, and seems to discourages at least some of the even really simple minded folks.....?
All closed or all gated crossings should be coming, soon, to a rural crossing near you.... And, given these type of fatalities (and the associated disruption costs imposed on rail services...) per the miles driven, on these often relatively low volume rural crossings, it's about time.
