Nisqually Prairie Line work

This week as I'm driving on I-5 South of Tacoma, seeing work being done along the rail right of way between the Dupont rail siding and Mounts Road (MP 116 on I-5).

See multiple trucks and couple small excavators, along with some pipe and rolls of orange cable.

Seeing small flags that look like survey markers as well.

Also just South of Bridgeport Way rail crossing where there is double track a red flag in the ground along with a derailer on the one line in use. Some guys walking the track there

Anyone know exactly what they are doing? I was thinking it could be rolls of fiber optic cable or maybe for gas line on the right of way?

Looks like the first work being done toward double tracking.

Thursday also saw BNSF welded rail train (loaded) parked on siding in Centralia facing North. Not there on Friday.

Thanks in advance
