Ah, the Alamosa shops -- what a wonderful place they were, and very busy when standard gauge steam was still running.

Glen, regarding photos from 1955, yes there are photos! I have bunch of either Ektachrome or Anscochrome 1-1/4 X 2-1/4 transparencies that have been stored in heat-sealed foil envelopes in my freezer for over 30 years. They were starting to fade and that seemed like the best way to preserve them until Adobe invented Lightroom and I had time to do something. That time is almost here.
