The need for speed is prompting many media outlets to rush whatever scant details they have onto the air or their websites. I know from personal experience that weekends are worse, when both the media and the agencies with whom they must interview are short-staffed, and the police/fire agency crews are often too busy, or simply unwilling, to deal with the media.
