Jon; that is right. UP tries to keep the TEY work force young and stupid.
That's so they can keep the SMART/UTU and BLET in their pockets. I knew a guy that hired out in 1998 with several years of experience and he got shipped around from LA to Bakersfield, to Fresno, Roseville and finally finished up in San Luis Obispo and walk in to the MTO's office and quit. He couldn't handle the LIES and BS that Labor relations throws out and expects the employees to tolerate it and deal with it for say, 30 or maybe 40 years to get a pension. By that time, the TEY employees are on meds for mental problems and have severe health problems increasing and the JOB isn't a ideal career anymore.
STAY AWAY FROM THE UP ! GO BNSF. Like Warren Buffet has said, UP management sucks!
