No. UP scrapped the line between just north of Wendell and just south of Alturas several years ago. The Bureau of Land Management is currently negotiating to turn the roadbed into a recreational trail.

With the end of the Susanville mill the Flannigan-Wendell section is on the chopping block. However, things are looking up on the north end as a new short line, the Modoc Nothern, took over the Klamath Falls-Alturas section within the last two years, with the company subsequently leasing the Lake County Railroad (Alturas-Lakeview). If you have a Yahoo membership I suggest looking up the JSS2 Yahoo! group- which is primarily about the Modoc Northern.
