Yeah this is another City in a County that had to vote on building SMART, and voted for it....overwhelmingly, if I recall correctly.

Foolish and short sighted were some Council members, and with a strong anti-rail faction, if I recall correctly, too? That was then and this is now.

"Now" with the train a reality and finally reaching the ferry, a new generation faces the reality that downtown Novato is actually pretty cool, and rail, like in places like Claremont, or Old Pasadena, can even create a tourism and leisure day trip destination of its own.

That's called good for business and real estate interests, who want new customers and tenants, or to fill new condos. So much for that "Evil Thomas"..... "now" it's time for a new Council, 10 or so years later, to get "on-board" with that program, like many other cities, and take advantage of a downtown station.

Also, lots of folks would have more access by foot and bike at this location, so even the bike and ped folks get a "win", too.
