I see the collectivists are out in full force this morning. LOL!!
Back to earth ..
1. There is no such thing as anthropogenic global warming, nor anthropogenic global cooling, nor anthropogenic climate change, nor will reducing CO2 emissions to Dark Age levels affect in any way the climate, nor do anthropogenic CO2 emissions even make a dent in atmospheric CO2 levels (which are directly caused by relative increases or decreases in Earth's average temperature, not the other way around).
During the decade of 1940 - 1950, when the demands of WWII caused an exponential increase in the use of fossil fuels, the level of atmospheric CO2 actually dropped slightly from 311 ppm to 310 ppm. It should also be noted there was a slight cooling trend during that decade, but I'm sure that had nothing to do with it!
Only fools and thieves continue to hawk the AGW myth.
2. Obama has plunged this nation into unrecoverable debt. This proposed tax is just another attempt to plug the hole in the Titanic with wishful thinking, and as we all know the proceeds from this tax will just end up in the pockets of Obama's billionaire donors.
3. Funding for our nation's freight rail system comes from private funding sources, just like any private business. Federal funding for our nation's highway system comes from user fees in the form of the federal gas tax. The problem is that much of this highway trust fund has been diverted into wasteful mass transit schemes, bike paths that no one uses, and so-called "environmental mitigation". Very little of it anymore goes to actually maintaining and constructing new roads and highways. This also tends to happen at the state level, with blue states diverting their gas tax revenue into urban money pits.
