The SP’s use of the 4443 and the 4430 in those publicity
photos did not mean that they ran their GS-class locomotives
all the way to Santa Cruz from San Francisco. They did not.
They ran them only as far as San Jose, where they were replaced
by one of their light Pacifics, SP 2476 or SP 2477.
