PAranoia is a personal thing and not necessarily a recent phenomenon
Thirty or so years ago a buddy and I were hanging out just off the street that goes in toward Hutt in BArstow, waiting for something ATSF to come by. We had cameras of the usual sort.
A sheriff pulled up to chat, as someone had reported 'men with guns'. He wished us a good day and went on .
