Well it looks for real. the NARP hotline on Friday reported it as a fact that the detour is on.

I've got space booked LA to Sacramento on #14 that day. My last trip on Tehachapi was a PRS excursion sometime in the late 1970's. We ran to Barstow and then over through Mojave to Bakersfield, then a bus back to LA. The train has Hi-Level coaches and a couple of PRS's private cars. I didn't keep good records back in my youth, so if anyone knows the month and year that PRS ran those trips, I would be grateful.
