This stuff always makes me laugh.

So, 44,000+ vehicles cross the state line daily, on average.

Is that total (both directions) or each way?

How many of those vehicles are trucks?

How many are RV's (motor homes, trailers, etc.)?

How many are buses?

How many start their journey somewhere other than the LA Basin (eastbound) or Vegas (westbound)?

How many end their journey someplace other than either of those places (IOW, just passing through)?

Truck traffic will not decrease just because there are passenger trains.

Transient (passing through) traffic is not going to use a train for a single leg of a journey that neither starts nor ends at either point.
