Nice video, even though I misspoke -- it was still 8444 back then. Also, the foamers visible on the hillside were not nearly as numerous on the return trip East, maybe because it was on a weekday. Zephyr 18 & I would drive past the photo line at Afton to the last crossing of the Mojave River at Basin, where we were all alone except for the stench of a rotting animal nearby. For those few that chose to stay with the train, we were rewarded with great shots & video of the train topping out Cima Hill. The diesel was mostly along for the ride.
