To SFO, sure, but into San Francisco, not a good plan. Trains to Transbay will be electrified--no diesel fumes in the tunnels. So, either ACE trains would have to change engines, terminate short of the tunnel, buy dual mode power--a huge waste as in either mode one is dragging the hardware for the other. Having ACE trains terminate at Millbrae OTOH would give riders two different transfer options to SF, while there is space there for layup.
