ACE wants to go to Modesto, not San Francisco. Commuting from the valley to San Francisco is very light. The commutators from the Central Valley are all going to the San Jose area. High Speed Rail and Amtrak cars cannot use same high level platforms. Caltrain is being built to HSR standards, not Amtrak. Since Amtrak will not be able to use same platforms that HSR uses, It will not be able to run to the Peninsula and San Francisco.
