California HSR - Who's gonna get the cake first?

So, who's going to get connected first, LA Area or SF? California HSR has said in Phase one they will build from Madera south to Fresno, including the viaduct and the Fresno Trench. So when Phase IV is complete (Madera to Bakersfield, we're gonna have a fast Amtrak San Joaquin over the CA HSR tracks as a temporary measure, right?

JPBX electrifying Caltrain up to specs from SF to Gilroy / Hollister if they go via Paisano Pass?

So the missing link will be Modesto-Gilroy vs. Bakersfield-Santa Ana! I'm sure then the State will prefer the Peninsula first (less waste of resources).... No pun intended.

LA hasn't said ANYTHING about electrifiying Metrolink... Except for a consultant at the California Passenger Rail Summit at LAUPT that suggested that to SCAX's board...
