CA mega-projects make me depressed.
Two days ago the LA Times reported that the Ivanpah Solar Plant in the Mojave Desert kills 6000 migratory birds per year. Most aren't just blunt force deaths from strikes, but are particularly painful deaths by incineration. Not a very humane way to treat our feathered friends. They say the problem could have been prevented if the plant was built in a different location.
The CHSR project is becoming a depressing waste of money.
This Eagle Mountain pump storage thing is also going to have some big-time environmental costs. I mean, it's not like water is an unlimited resource.
Maybe it's time to have a "one child" policy like China had, instead of trying to meet the power demand of a growing population? There is one technician at my work who has 7 kids, and he probably has the blue prints for a few more.
As Bob2 says, "oh well"?
