The contrast between the British and the US RR fans is astounding.
In England the number of preserved and operating steam locomotives is remarkable,
In England the words are "Why don't WE....." and the subjects range from restoring a rail line to building replicas of steam locomotives for which no specimen survives.

I note in the above post
"They should save one..."
So why don't YOU find some like-minded folks, who are willing to expend LOTS of their time and LOTS of their money to accomplish saving xxxx .
