here's what I suggest
Join a preservation movement
Spend your time and treasure
Learn how it all works
Like legal organization laws, publicity, management, getting other folks to join up [ especially rich folks] grantsmanship,etc
When you have mastered enough of those skills, go preserve something
If mastery does not occur, stay joined up and with the folks who have
Oh, and stay out of the pool halls, card rooms, tatoo parlors, and stop watching family feud on teevee
I thought that was implicit in my post, but heck I don't mind spelling it out
