Having ridden one of those pieces of junk on the GCT-Albany route, the highest, best use of that steel would be new hand tools IMHO. The stench of semi burnt fuel on board was disgusting, and the ride was nothing to praise.
Given that we never have enough money for preservation, wasting it on mistakes like the turbos deprives us of funds for more deserving equipment.
