You think there is a shortage now, you ain't seen nothing yet!!! With all the new regs that are coming down the pike, there won't be any truck drivers left to drive the trucks. I will say that by 2023 over 50% of the drivers now will either quit or be forced to quit. The first showdown is only 14 months away. Thousands of truck drivers will hang up their keys before they allow the Feds to put ELD's in their cabs. [Electronic log books with GPS.] It violates the 4th amendment and the Supreme Court said so back in 2012. The Government has said they are pushing it anyway. The new medical regs are going to kill the industry. We've all heard about the sleep apnea fiasco. I read that the new rules say that if you are over 45, male and weigh @20 lbs overweight, you will be disqualified from driving until you are tested. Well, that will disqualify about 40 percent of all drivers overnight. Yep...it's coming. And I know you guys up in your locomotive cabs are already going thru this. I've had two friends quit when the RR turned the cameras toward the inside of the cab. Big Brother is watching you!!!
