I don't get too excited about a Proposition 'M' or the woes of LA public transit.
They had a GREAT system many years ago (you know its name)..
1500 miles of track--- 4500 cars of various types on the active roster ---
double-track mainline on private right-of-way down the middle of the Hollywood and San Bernadino Freeways.
4-Track Mainline from downtown LA to Watts.. Inside two tracks for Express trains.
Outside two tracks for Local Trains and freight service.
4-Track Mainline from downtown LA to Sierra Madre and Pasedena areas.
Same-o, same-o.... Outside two tracks for Locals. Inside two tracks for
Express trains.
A Subway route from downtown LA to Glendale, approx 1.25 miles long.
"Angelinos" did NOT need a letter of the alphabet for a political transit system. They had a GREAT system, but politics got in the way !! Too bad !!
