Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich already got together and personally stole nearly $400 a month from me in the 90's.... I went to school, got good grades, got a better job, paying even more taxes than I did on the RR, and they decided I didn't deserve a share equal to what I would have received based on what I had actually contributed, even if I had stopped working and gone on welfare... So screw the Clinton's, too.

Yep Carter did do a small "raid", but those funds Carter stole are held in US Treasuries, over 80% of which are held by US pensions, social security, and US banks, as reserves.

Reagan also went after RR Retirement, Amtrak, and FELA back in '83. And, the public, the workers, their unions, and Congress stopped that one. Although, it should be noted, that later Reagan and the Congress forged a set of compromises that have made Social Security and to a lesser extent RR Retirement solvent, until hopefully, I'm dead.

Michael Moore called this election absolutely right. That's because Hillary and her nerdy policy wonks, with college educated lives have lost much, if any, point of real connection with a great segment of the American working class and working class retiree's. Which is shy, in this election they voted for Trump. Trump appealed o a very real anger, because half of these folks till working just got a two hundred dollar a month increase in their health care premium, and the other half who are retired just got a seven dollar a month "cost of living" increase in their Social Security, after none at all last year. And, some of these disconnected liberal's wonder why these folks voted for Trump?

As to railroads, Amtrak, high speed rail, and other infrastructure spending, who really know what Trump will do. Donald has promised a bigly increase in infrastructure spending on things like highways and bridges, does that mean trains too...? How will investment oriented tax cuts affect RR ROI and future levels of capital investment? What does CA do now with the CHSRA fiasco....or maybe they hope the "Donald" will be the new "Arnold"...?

As I have noted, even President's can't repeal the laws of economics (though Trumps has made promises to some that he somehow will...) and miraculously make coal cheaper than natural gas, don't hold your breath (to reduce carbon emissions...) waiting for the coal trains to return. And, disruption of trade through protectionism, or policies which create an unstable dollar, is not helpful to US intermodal traffic volumes.

So, we'll just have to see what happens, won't we?

But, whatever you do, just quit whining!

I'm sick of "whiney little bitc#es", and that includes both Clinton and Trump fans, who listen to rumors, make s#it up, spread bull$#it, and cry "chicken little"..... And, if you don't like what's going on with RR's, or pensions, or anything else, get off of your ass and do something other than whine. Because, at least Trump's voters actually did get off of their asses and showed up. And, that's how it's supposed to work.

I have no idea what Trump may really do, about RR Retirement, choo-dhoo's or anything else for that matter. Does anyone really know, yet?
