Amtrak has been a low priority since the passage of the 2008 Rail bill with Obama, so I doubt we will see much change right away. This is why, in CA, under the provisions of the 2008 Rail Bill, we have Joint Power Authorities running all three intercity corridors, which gives us some leverage, and a process to take it over, if necessary. However, I don't see "killing off" Amtrak as a priority, right away. There are plenty of other great ways to piss everybody off, that the Congress is more than capable of going after first.

The "Donald" has a lot in common with the "Ahnold", both, of course, being attention seeking narcissistic media celebrities, as well as the universes gift to women, who want to be adored by their cheering masses. And, given this trait, he may govern in some ways that are similar, seeking to please the adoring masses, but lashing out when frustrated by the "girly men"......and/or the Constitution.

"Ahnold" was usually too busy promising to steer High Speed Rail contracts to the Chinese on junkets to pay any attention to our intercity Amtrak program.... Which, in its own way, was maybe a blessing. But, the real answer, like almost everything else we actually "know" about Trump, is "who knows?"........
