UP's Screaming Detectors on the Sunset Route,,WHY?

Drove to Tucson and followed the Sunset route and listened to 4242, 1414, and 9696
Why does UP have the level of these detectors where they are piercing and distorted
While the Dispatcher and Locomotive radios are much quieter
These have to be blowing radio speakers and crews eardrums out
BNSF and Metrolink are not nearly as loud

WHY?
