And sometimes it's the "little things" that don't show up on any nationwide radar. A couple nights ago, 7 left Whitefish, MT, maybe an hour or two late while 8 and 28 were moving across Washington not much later than that, if at all. But by the following morning, 7 and 8 passed each other somewhere between Spokane and Sandpoint nearly five or six hours late. Word was an abandoned vehicle on the track near Athol, ID, got hit by a westbound Q train shortly before midnight and plugged everything up.
