The westward grade on Track 1 reaches it maximum at 1.8% around MP 205-206. From Shed 47 to Summit the westbound grade is 1.7% with a 1.8% drop into Norden. This is from the grade profiles in a 1983 SP timetable.

The westward grade on Track 2 from Shed 47 to Norden reaches 1.47% in the tunnel. But it varies alot between the east portal of Tunnel 41 and Shed 47, its between 0.14% and 1.87%. Almost the entire length is between 1.7% and 1.8% however. Finally, the track is basically flat from Norden to the west portal of Tunnel 41 (West Norden to East Norden in the timetable).
