It's unlikely that a pedestrian walkway will be added to the existing 5-bridge combination that passes over Capitola and Soquel Creek.

Eventually an entirely new structure is needed and has been considered. At $10M, it would have wide, safe, dedicated bike/ped lanes integrated into it. That old steel and timber isn't going to stand there forever.

I'll miss it, but I'll welcome modern rail transit more than miss the existing.
